Garrett Bonner Pastor
After years of prayer and serving as a pastor at Calvary Chapel Wahiawa, Garrett became the planting pastor for the Refuge in January of 2020. He is also the campus chaplain for APIS, and enjoys spending his free time with his wife Sara and their 4 children.
David Larson Pastor
Our most recent pastoral addition, David is also a lecturer at Oʻahu Theological Seminary. He and his wife Lauren moved to Oʻahu from Minnesota with their 2 children back in 2022, and have been faithfully serving our community ever since.
Alan Leigh Pastor Emeritus
Pastor Al has faithfully served as a pastor for decades, and now is pastor emeritus for a few churches on-island. These days you can find him spending time with his wife Sonya, their 3 children and grandchildren, or working as the head chaplain at Halawa Correctional Facility, sharing the Good News with the inmates there.
Rebekah Kirby Deaconess/Head of Youth Ministry
Bekah moved from Minnesota to Oʻahu in 2021 to join us at the Refuge, and has been a valuable asset to our team in many ways, including planning our women’s events. She also works in administration at APIS and leads our Youth Ministry.
Leslie Llanos Head of Children’s Ministry
Leslie has been a resident in Kahuku for decades and has prayed for this side of the island to have a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, that many would come to know Jesus. She has been a blessing to our church ʻohana as we seek to serve the families who attend our services.
Andrew Peeler Deacon/Lead Musician
One of the few members that has been with our church since the very beginning, Andy has been faithfully serving as a musician for our church for years. He and his wife Tessa also work on campus at APIS in various capacities, and often lead us in worship through song together.
Caitlyn Carrillo Quesada Deaconess/Media Manager
From our website to our social media platforms to designing flyers, Caitlyn handles all things online for our church. She and her husband Israel serve on Sunday mornings by running our livestream and soundboard.
Dave Bjorn Deacon/Hospitality
Our Sunday morning services would not be the same without Dave and his wife Dru, as they have served our church by way of their hospitality table since the very beginning. Dave is also a talented film photographer and often takes photos of our services and events.
